Reflection Questions
Recap:
The last sermon delved into the struggles of being persistent in prayer when it feels like God isn't answering. We looked at the cycle where initial optimism in prayer declines into doubt and disengagement after unmet expectations. In looking at Jesus' parable of the unjust judge from Luke 18, we can see how unlike this judge, God is just and loving. Even though it might seem like God delays those delays can be due to our understanding, God’s timing, or spiritual opposition. The devil knows that prayer is a powerful weapon to push back darkness and advance God's kingdom. That's why he wants us to give up. Jesus wants us to know that our persistence is our resistance. So let's pray always and not give up.
