What to Expect if you Come to Worship with Us

It can be intimidating if you are looking for a church to join for worship.
There's so many churches out there, and we are all at least a little bit different.
Here are some of the most commonly asked questions that can hopefully help you get a feel for what to expect.

What is Service Like?

Our worship service includes elements of music, prayer, and of course preaching from the Bible.
When it comes to music we sing everything from psalms and hymns all the way to new spiritual songs being created in our day.
Our preaching calendar is mostly filled with expositional preaching where we take our time going through a book of the Bible.

What Bible do you use?

Our Pastors mostly use the English Standard Version (ESV) but we don't take a hard stance on which is the best or only appropriate Bible translation.

What do you have for kids?

We try to find ways to incorporate kids into everything we do as much as we can and in ways that work for parents.
We love for the kids to stay up and sing with us and then we have them come up front for a sermon just for them.
Then they have the option to go downstairs with the rest of the kids and get some more age-appropriate teaching, with some crafts, and games.
We gear everything we do with the kids to line-up with what we are doing in our worship service so that parents and kids can all discuss the same passage at home.
We do have a nursery downstairs as well as a sound-proofed "crying" room in the back of the sanctuary for parents if parents are uncomfortable when their babies get fussy.

How should we dress?

We would describe the way we dress as "nice but casual."
Jeans and flannel are a common sight, as are sun-dresses and polos.

What do you believe?

We affirm traditional orthodox Christian doctrine which includes traditional views on marriage, sexuality, and issues pertaining to life.
